Vocito exists because dictation shouldn't mean feeding your voice to Big Tech AI clouds. Short version: your audio is processed on Vocito's own private servers, never stored, and never shared with any third-party AI service.

Audio

Your voice is streamed to Vocito's server, transcribed in memory, and discarded. Audio is not stored, and no third-party AI or speech service ever receives it — the speech models run on infrastructure operated by Vocito itself.

What is stored

• Account — your email, display name and a securely hashed password.
• Dictation history — the text of your dictations with basic metadata (app surface, language, timing), so your dashboard can show history and stats and so your corrections can improve recognition of your terms. You can turn this off entirely in the app (Settings → Account → Save dictation history) or delete individual entries at any time.
• Dictionary and corrections — terms you add and edits you make.
• Devices — the name and version of each Mac you link, so you can review and revoke them.
• Release analytics — anonymous counts of downloads and update checks (app version, macOS version, hardware model, country). No IP addresses are stored and there is no per-user tracking.

Cookies

One session cookie to keep you signed in to the dashboard, and your theme preference stored locally in your browser. No advertising or tracking cookies, no third-party analytics scripts.

Third parties

The only external service used is transactional email delivery (invites and account messages). No data is sold or shared — there is nothing to sell.

Retention and deletion

Dictation history stays until you delete it or disable saving. To remove your account and all associated data, reply to your invitation email and it will be deleted promptly.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date above is updated and account holders are notified by email.
